Halberstadt D-11; Airframe 1/72

Post by vacant »

The Halberstadt D-11 is one of the early fighter aircraft used by the Imperial German Army Air Service. It was mainly operational during 1916. It was already largely obsolete by 1917. Some flights were made using rockets. It is also one of the aircraft used by Manfred von Richthofen, though only for a short time.

The kit is a fairly basic vacform from Airframe. Wings and fuselage are provided. The rest is up to you. Decals on the wings are a bit undersized. I printed the markings on the fin/rudder. It cost me £1 so I'm not complaining.

Very nice work Vacant. I can never understand how you can do vacuform models. Kudos to you!. What did you use for the rigging?

Very nice! As ever a lovely looking build and great portrayal.

Is that the Thames near Henley? ;-)
Best wishes

Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Shhhhhhhhhh! Not exactly, but pretty close. The Halberstadt was on a very long range recce. flight!

Great build of a not well known aircraft. Wonderfully portrayed as always with your work.

You spent a whole pound on a kit!!!!! You must be slipping :ha:

Great bit of modeling though and some superb photography too 8-)

Did this one break the bank? Another of your excellent vacuforms. There is a wide variety of lesser known types in this format and you seem to have built most of them. And very well too!
