Re: Therapy Build
Isn't that a beauty. I'd be very happy to have built that. Gotta love Lightnings - great noisy (and thirsty) beasts.

Re: Therapy Build
Thank you gentlemen, I do appreciate your comments
Ok i've got the fire lit under me right now. I gonna grab another one from my shelf of shame and give it a go and see if I can get another one in the display case.

Re: Therapy Build
A really great build of a classic British fighter (we don't make them like that any more ). Sounds like your recovery is gathering pace Greg!

Re: Therapy Build
Great stuff there Greg, an iconic aircraft. I have been contemplating the 'foiling' techniques for the intake ring on the 29(F) Sqn F3 Lightning I must build - your effort has shown me it is well worth doing. May I ask, did you fold the foil to fit inside and out or just foil the outside?
I've flown air-combat against the Lightning on a fair few occasions, my steed was the mighty F4, but they were tricky devils to fight!

Re: Therapy Build
I must confess I cheated with the foil. I only covered the outside, and just painted MM Chrome on the inside.
Funny you mention the F-4...... I'm about to finish one up here in near future.

Re: Therapy Build
Will it be an RAF version? FG 1, FGR 2 or F4S (F3 unofficially)? I flew the FGR 2.

I'll be going for a F-4B in USMC Viet Nam era....1966 to be exact. I've started a thread in Aviation.

Re: Therapy Build
I do believe that the first F4 produced by Airfix was rhe 'B' version. I remember building it, I was probably about 14 or 15, little did I know that some 15 years later I would be flying them.
