ShaunW wrote:Great progress and the markings are really bringing her to life. As long as the main decals are OK all will be well to most observers IMHO. If the decal write offs are stencils then personally I wouldn't be too fussed. These days I only apply sufficient stencils to a jet to make the airframe look reasonably busy, say half of those on the average sheet, as I think to apply them all can almost overwhelm a model in 1/72. Just my opinion of course.
Good call with the stencils Shaun,I'm doing Airfix's C-47 as a faded, stained and grubby RAF Dak.IV in late 1945.
I don't think any stencils will go on it.(Can't see any in the pictures I have of wartime RAF Daks)

Damn smart work Dollar, she's looking the part.

Thank you gentlemen.
I'm humbled by all the kindness and thoughtful comments. Not quite "COMFORTABLY NUMB', but getting there slowly.

I took some sage advise and punted the stencils. At this point I just dont have the dexterity or patience to bother with them and their unpredictable behavior. So with the main markings on, and a gloss coat to seal them, I'm moving on. Today was all about the canopy and windscreen. Got them masked off and sprayed black as well as the anti-glare panel. After that dried I masked off and painted the gun port panels, and got her up on her legs.

Not wanting to push my luck so I called it a day. I have a therapy session tomorrow morning so I'll probably finish her up in the afternoon.

Here's a shot off her up on her landing gear, still have the nose gear doors to add, and the missile pylons.Image

As always thank for looking and commenting.

Good luck with the therapy session tomorrow Greg!

That's looking very nice, although for a moment I thought there was something massively wrong with the nose... until I realised you haven't fitted the intake ring... ( I wish I'd thought to do that on my build)

Wow she looks good. Hopefully the therapy and the nose foiling both went well!

Therapy went fine, but the Mrs. side tracked me today and took me shopping for flowers for the front of the house.
So nothing got done. Maybe tomorrow.

Im already thinking on my next build...........

Next to work, Gardening has got to be the biggest block to getting some bench time.

Looking forward to seeing what you tackle next.

Well folks there it is. Not my best effort but under the circumstances, I must say I'm well pleased with it. Thank you each and every one of you that have encouraged me on during this build. Believe me when I say it helped me keep moving forward.

And now for my next feat of daring do...... maybe pull out a shelf queen and finish it up. Just to get another one finished before the Doctors clear me to go go back to work.
Many many thanks

That's nothing to be sniffed at - that's a great bit of work! The foil on the intake ring worked well.
