Airfix 1/48 Spit Mk PR XIX

Post by jssel »

Been tidying up a couple of kits on the bench and one is the newer Spitfire PR Mk XIX. Having built the 1/72 scale version I was in a hurry to check this one out also.

No issues on the build at all except the tail wheel. Care must be given to removing to part off the sprue. Mine snapped in half and careful repair was needed to fix the piece.

Hope you enjoy.

Very smart build! I remember watching the real version displaying at Kemble about ten years ago; she closed the day's flying with a beautiful solo display watched by only a handful of people as everyone else had left to miss the traffic. Best display of the day 8-)
Best wishes

Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I have this kit in the stash - mine will be the all-over silver scheme that PS915 now wears.

There is something very sexy about the Spit XIX, though!

You are so right Daren. Love the Griffon Spits.
