DH Mosquito, Khemedi AF

Post by Migrant »

Just finished this for the 'One for the Books' GB: Skut's Mosquito from the Tintin 'Red Sea Sharks' book. Hasegawa 1/72 kit, the only modifications required involved closing the undercarriage doors up (not as simple as it should have been) and changing the gun nose configuration. The Blue Rider decals didn't work out so the markings are a combination of painting/printing my own.

Gorgeous. How do you get such wonderful paint finishes?

How cool is that?

I love the photoplasty in the last shot. Very awesome, Mike.

Absolutely stunning, Mike.
That paint finish is sublime.
It took me a few minutes to realise there are no prop blades! Amazing.

Mike, what is that thin little rod you use for a stand?

That is amazing, Mike, an absolute corker. Looks great photo-shopped into the comic strip to give it context as well.

It's a section of a BBQ skewer, mounted into a clear acrylic block and sprayed black.

Excellent modelling and I too really like the way that you have inserted it into the comic page.

Hooley Dooley! He's done it again!
Terrific subject and terrific result.
And it's not often you see the Hasegawa 1/72 Mossie built.

cheers,

David
