Tamiya Hamp 1:72

Post by Softscience »

I finally finished this one. Tamiya's 1:72 A6M3; short-winged zero marked as a machine stationed at Buna Field, New Guinea, during the summer of 1942. Great little kit. No issues. I painted it with the usual Tamiya and Vallejo colors. A few light washes for weathering.

I forgot to mention, this kit was almost a loss. I dropped it and broke one of the landing gear legs, but my repairs seem to be holding on okay. A bit more fragile than normal, but we'll see in the long run.

I'm getting so butterfingered with my small scale builds. Is that one of those things about aging that nobody tells you about? :(

Lovely job, though apart from the canopy, it looks like a Japanese attempt to make a Harvard for a film.

That's a good looking trio. Very well presented.

Cracking build and trio.

All the best.

That is a seriously nice looking Zero, Ralph. The subtle weathering has broken the grey up nicely IMHO to stop the finish being too one dimensional and the model joins the other two to make a great trio of this famous aircraft.

Very nice job on all three; they look excellent together
Best wishes

Great job Ralph. I agree with you on getting older. It's not what is cracked up to be is it?

Rafal, what aging are you talking about, we are like eighteen (... hmm ...) and never older. I, for one, like your Zeke family (happy 2+1 model :)) quite a lot. And Hamp looks like it was fun build.

Very nice Softscience, I didn't know there was a short winged version until now. I think I'll try to read up on it later on. :)
