Eric, As I understand it, there was a plan (which never came to fruition) to have Skyvans scattered all over Britain at existing and yet to be built STOL airports operating as a sort of airborne BritRail system.
Rivets completely gone on the fuselage James, but only very slightly reduced on the vertical tails and wings. I sanded the 'dimple' out of one window and decided it was just too much work for too little reward. That window is just over the GulfAir 'A' in the second photo and you can see the difference between it and the others. If there's a next time, I will do them all. (But, you still won't be able to see the interior...too small, too dark.)

Very nicely done, that looks great Barry. The Skyvan is a very unpretentious aircraft and looks the way it does as function was put above form - personally I think it has great charm and character.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Lovely stuff as always Barry. A kit I must get one day. Super colour scheme too.

A favourite of mine.
From mid-1967 to the end of production I saw every single one which came off the production line. I also photographed them all.
I lived right under the Shorts test flights air space back then.
This kit goes for silly money now if you can find one

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

You're right. Certainly one that plenty of people will have in the stash but is rarely seen built. And would make an excellent SKGB methinks.
Again awesome model Barry. Nice one.
All the best.
