Matchbox P-47 Thunderbolt.

Post by shangos70 »

Another oldie finished this month. I don't recall building one of these back in the day but it was a nice easy build with no issues to speak of. I decided to to use a set of SuperScale markings rather than the kits ones, I didn't fancy D-Day stripes.
I didn't use all the decals provided as they were tricky and had a tendency to break up when sliding them off the paper.
Panited largly with Xtracrylix and a Humbrol matt spray.

P-47D "Little Demon" of Major Walter E. Beckham ,351st F.S ,353rd F.G . 8th Air force. Metfield , England 1945.

Looks good. Although Matchbox's mad trencher is often maligned I like how they accentuate the detail without needing shading etc

That's a really neat build of the Thunderbolt, Shangos.

I have a Heller kit of the Thunderbolt in my stash - I hope it looks as good as yours when I've done it ;-)
