That's a bit harsh on Blacbkurn. When you look into the history of the Brewster company, you can see that it had questionable tactics regarding winning orders and massive failures in implementing production.

Yes, the Beverley was better than most think, especially at rough airstrips such as in the middle east, and the Buccaneer can't be considered an accident!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Regardless of its shortcomings it is a handsome aircraft. The Finns did what they needed to do and it's a testament to them and this clumsy bird that they were as successful as they were.
One the other hand .......What a nicely done model. Top notch!!

Well, the S.1 had terrible engines - it was Hawker Siddeley who stuck the Roll Royce Speys into it turning it from borderline failure to world-beating attack aircraft, but yes, the Beverley was a pretty good transport - better than the Herc for a lot of jobs.MarkyM607 wrote:Yes, the Beverley was better than most think, especially at rough airstrips such as in the middle east, and the Buccaneer can't be considered an accident!!.
So well done Blackburn, makers of the Roc, the Skua, the Botha and the Firebrand.
I'll stop hijacking this thread now. It's still a very nice Brewster Bermuda, all the better for being an ancient Rareplanes vac.

I like the Buffalo. I have a soft spot for failures. That's why I'm currently building a Handley Page Herald.

It had its charms - although in more recent years I did hear from someone who actually worked on the design team and he pointed out why it was always on the back foot compared to the F-27. Maybe we should continue this conversation on my Herald thread.
