Hasegawa 1/48 Bf109G

Post by jssel »

Feel a little down over a recent group build not working out I decided to crank out an easier project.

The Hasegawa Bf109G has been re-popped many times over but remains a good kit. This was the Gerhard Barkhorn boxing and comes with many extras. You get extra canopies, and extra instrument panel, underwing cannons to name a few.

Not wanting to go a Luftwaffe edition I shopped around for ideas. I really liked the Captured 109 that Mike Grant did in the Circuits and Bumps guide and I was hooked. The paint scheme required more than usual masking but worth it in the end.

That's a tasty looking scheme, and works well against the painted out 'original owner' markings!
Best wishes

Definitely unusual and eye-catching scheme. Nice work.

Very nicely done! Strange how different markings change the look of an aircraft.
