Trumpeter Vickers Wellington Mk.1c 1/72

Post by iggie »

From the ongoing Bomber Aircraft GB

A nice kit to build, with very good fit all round and a very neat way of attaching the wings to the fuselage. The surface detail has been decried on many other forums and by a lot of reviewers, but after painting and a couple of flat varnish coats, it seems ok to me
Paints were mostly AK Interactive to the topsides, and Revell Anthracite to the lower, all brush applied.

That looks great - although for some reason I'm having issues with pictures loading on my computer at the moment so can only see 2/3 of your first photo.

One stunning build mate.

All the best.

Really nice, man. I wouldn't have guessed it was brush painted.

You're right about the surface details being more muted than they appear in bare plastic. At least it seems so on your photos.

Anyhow, congratulations on a finishing a fine model.

Thanks folks!

Vacant, I have no idea why you are not seeing the images; is it just my posts or are others affected?

Well, I can see the images and I'm glad for that. It's a very fine model. Excellent brush painting to an appropriate level of realism.
I'm going to google the term 'Anthracite', as I always thought it was a purplish/blue color used in some Japanese cockpits.

We'll done Iggie.

Over the past week or so, the loading of images on my computer on a number of sites has become very hit and miss. Sometimes I see the whole picture. Sometimes I see partial pictures. Sometimes I just see the image address. And sometimes nothing at all.

Lovely job Iggie.

Good to see a Wellington and it looks a nice kit. I was looking at your workbench and it seems you were able to assemble and install the front and rear turrets minus the clear parts? Seems like a good feature.

The photos have suddenly appeared - no explanation. Great looking model.

Revell Aquacolor Anthracite is also often my choice for 'black' Black can be just too black.
