Supermarine Stranraer 'Skeena Queen',Queen Charlotte Airways

Post by gnomemeansgnome »

Yes folks, after several months of much on and off mucking about and cussin' and grumblin' your humble scribe has finally wrestled this beast to the mat. Other than maybe futzing a radio wire or two I think I can call this done for now. And now I need a drink. Enjoy.......

Spectacular! There's no other word for it, absolutely spectacular

The scheme really suits the aircraft and the build looks first class 8-)
Best wishes

Well worth the fight. A beautiful build. Nice one.

All the best.

I am in love with that! I'm so gutted I didn't manage to get this decal set when it was in production. It's the one scheme I really want to build my Stranny in. You've done an absolutely spectacular job of it!

Thanks for all of your kind words, much appreciated. Any biplane I do after this will be a cinch. So glad to have finally finished it, although now I have to figure out where to display it since it can't stay on the bench!

One to be proud of !! Great build, paint job, and rigging. A great tribute to a wonderful airplane.

Beautiful. You have to hand it to Supermarine, they built a handsome flying boat (and a very reasonable fighter) :)

Superb bit of modelling there, Gnome...all that rigging...
