Italeri AH64A Apache

Post by jssel »

Hi everyone, This is the Italeri AH64A Apache in 1/72 scale. A rather quick and easy build to bring the model building mojo back. While not rated as high as the Academy kit it still represents a good looking Apache. While basic in detailing, a few added bits really dressed it up in my opinion. The transfers left a lot to be desired. The finish is Helo Drab by Testors Acryllics with some lightening as the real deal weathers quite extensively and pastel chalks.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great and the weathering and fading is spot on
Best wishes

That looks excellent, Jeff and I also really like the subtle, weathered paint job. I built the Airfix boxing of this kit on here a few years ago and converted it into the British Army version - which I found to be a lengthy and difficult process to say the least. I would agree that, although a relatively simple kit, with a few additions by the builder a decent enough Apache can be built as you have shown here - my advice though is stick to the U.S. Army version!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
