Sopwith Snipe; Warbirds (Rareplanes) 1/72

Post by vacant »

The kit is the 1/72 scale Warbirds rom the Rareplanes range of vacform kits.

This is a restoration of a model that I was given a few years ago as a bag of broken pieces and missing some parts. I cleaned up the remains, made some new parts and repainted it in the colours of 3 squadron RAF. The markings are home made and painted. As is often the case with these small models, my rigging wires tend to be too thick. They certainly look that way on my screen where the photo is very much bigger than the model.

Lovely job Vacant!

PS is the background somewhere in Peco-shire?
Best wishes

You've got amazing modeling skills and doubly so for vacforms, vacant!

Love your choice of scheme on this beauty. The rare silver Sopwith.

Most excellent!

I do not think that your rigging wires are too thick - the photo is probably not doing them justice. Anyway getting those aileron wires into place is tricky enough whatever their thickness. Another beautiful model from your collection.
