Hasegawa 1/72 Spitfire

Kit went together with no problems. Decals broke up a little when given a water bath, but managed to reassemble them well enough to satisfy me Brush painted with Humbrol enamels. I did the exhaust with a bronze sharpie pen then a dark wash. Not sure if it looks right or not

Very nice. Have you missed the windscreen frame between it and the main canopy?. Otherwise lovely little Spit.

That is an old kit if it is the one that I am thinking of. You have done very well indeed to produce a fine model from it.

I think what is suggested is that there needs to be another frame over the front of the canopy where it would in reality split when the pilot pulled back on the sliding hood, to get in or bail out. Its an easy fix!

Nicely spotted Marky. Just had a look and there is a veeery faint frame line on the canopy, so it's out with the Humbrol 30 and the fine brush.

I still have a built version of that - one of my oldest surviving models (1980 or so). It goes together quite well but does have some accuracy issues. What I liked about it was that it allowed you to do an original low canopy/two blade Watts propeller MkI.

I do find the box art interesting, what were the chances do you think of a couple of BofB era mk.I spits going up against an FW190?
