I am moderating the current "Powered by Merlin" group build and wanted to build something different than the usual Spitfire that seems to come up. Thus, the Canadian DC-4 variant with Rolls Royce Merlins. The base kit is the new Revell of Germany DC-4 in 1/72 scale along the Transport Wings 1:72 scale conversion pack "BOAC Canadair Argonaut Engines". Adding a little historical flair to the build are the BOAC Canadair C-4 Argonaut decals by Transport Wings. The subject is G-ALHK that flew Princess Elizabeth back to England after her father died.
On 1 February 1952 the BOAC Argonaut Atalanta G-ALHK few Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh to Kenya and on 6 February 1952, it was again Atalanta that flew her back as Queen Elizabeth II following the death of her father, King George VI.

On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Good job on a big kit. I hope the ground crew roll the steps in place quickly.

A great conversion, the old B.O.A.C schemes always looked classy.
