1/72 Sword Jet Provost T Mk.5 6FTS RAF 1981

Post by Marek »

Greetings Guys,
One of two completed models this week. These Sword 1/72 kits are pretty sweet and if I followed instructions a tad better, I would not have self-inflicted few wounds. As it went, I had to re-attach canopies ... 3 times, last one because I have ... forgotten to put bang seats ... Must be the Modeller Idiocy Syndrome :). It went OK from there :).

Great work, Marek, that is an excellent JP. The T.5 is my favourite of the JP range and the red/white/grey scheme is the best one for it, IMHO of course!

A beautiful build of a beautiful aircraft. Very well done from someone who has spent many hundreds of hours working on the real thing.

All the best.

Very attractive model. The panel wash looks just right to me.
Sword seem to be getting it right for so many British subjects, do you agree?
Did you have the option to pose the canopy open?

Cheers,

David

Lovely build, and probably one of the aircraft that frequently buzzed my school when I was growing up in the late seventies. They were often seen over Middlesbrough at that time, along with Vulcans and the occasional Canberra. Very nice to see the JP memorialised in such a sharp way.

The canopy is two-piece so it was probably easier (in retrospect) to put it in an open position. Next one, which is a light combat version, I build will be with open canopy. I agree and would extend this to both Valom and Sword, that they are getting lots of British subjects quite well. My observation is that MPM and the horde actually 'grew out' from the cottage by doing lots of British subjects. I vividly remember the Fairey Battle as one of earlier MPMs that was actually quite buildable and survived two house moves with me. :)

Very nice Marek. This is making me want to make a few more trainers. The scheme you have painted is my favourite for RAF trainers.
