This is the result of one of my rare forays into 48th scale modelling. But it is the Hawker Typhoon, an absolute ground attack legend and the aircraft that was the subject of the book 'Day of the Typhoon' by John Golley. Worth a read by the way. The kit is the Monogram one and has the date 1980 on the instructions so a little bit of age. If I hadn't started it before the Oldies GB I would have just been able to enter it (I think). The kit decals are for the same Squadron as in the book so happy all round!!.
Hawker Typhoon Ib, No.245 Squadron Royal Air Force, Germany Summer 1945.
Proper pics mill probably be done later. Have a Fokker to build first!!.

That looks great Mark!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: Marky's bigger Typhoon
Nice one, Mark, that is a great looking Typhoon. IMHO 1/48th is a good scale for single-engine types such as the Tiffie as it gives a nice balance between detail and size.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Good to see one of these.

Thanks everyone!!. It did/does look good just by the size, especially when you're used to 72nd!. The surface detail was a little vague but I did put a little too much paint on I think (two coats neither of which I thinned down!!). But it's does look god now it's finished. According to my stash list I've got a same scale Tempest V so it might see the light of day yet!.
