If I had a pound for every time I've nearly typed the same sentiment in various threads on here........

(mind you, then I'd be able to buy even more kits    )

Looking forward to seeing this progress

If only I was on commission:) I bought this kit around 1987 from Farnborough Models. The shop closed down about 15 years ago. The kit has been lying in my stash ever since.

I've not had an opportunity to post up any pictures over the past few days. This evening I managed to start assembling the fuel tanks and centreline pod. They needed a fair amount of cleaning up and the fins will need some thinning.

I also did some priming of the resin cockpit inset and the resin ejector seat. I initially spayed both Halford's Primer Grey and then sprayed on a thin coat of Tamiya Flat Black. Next I will apply some interior grey over the black. The black should provide some depth to the detail.

Hopefully, over the next few days I'll start detail painting the cockpit parts.

I really could do with a better canopy. The kit version is a bit crude with very faint frame lines. I did a search last week and couldn't see that anybody did one at the moment.

Thanks for that. Exactly the same kit as the one I'm doing except mine was moulded in olive green plastic.

What did you use for the cockpit canopy seal lines?

Probably decal.

Thanks. Along the lines of what I was planning. The seals on the F-105 are generally depicted as yellow although all the colour pictures I've come across seem to show more of a light tan colour.

Just fiddling about with the resin cockpit area at the moment. I hope it all fits in OK.
