Matchbox Lightning F6
Matchbox's old Lightning finally complete and bound for Sig table at Telford. This one came from the blackbox era and came with some nice markings for 5 Sqn but I decided to go with an 11 Sqn bird that was at the Jubilee airshow at RAF Finningley , my local base in 1977.
No upgrades to the kit other than a set of old Model Decals. I didn't have any spare canopy chop markings and didn't want to risk making a mess painting them. They are so prominent and it looks a bit bare without but heyho.

Re: Matchbox Lightning F6
If you can get hold of some yellow stripe decal, you could use that for the canopy seals. As you say, they are very prominent on the real thing.
Re: Matchbox Lightning F6
Always good to see a well made and finished Lightning, especially an old Matchbox kit.

Re: Matchbox Lightning F6
that is a lovely camo you've done on the lightning, raised panel lines look good under it and shows what nice models can still be made out of the older generation kits

Re: Matchbox Lightning F6
That looks really nice. Very good result. I've been taking other actions with my old ones.
A few more here. The old Matchbox kits really lend themselves to this treatment. It got my stash of unbuilt models down a bit, too.
I still have some to do in the proper colours.

Excellent. The old kit still makes a very good looking Lightning.

That is a really great build of this classic kit, Shane and you've got it spot on as far as I'm concerned fella. I look forward to seeing it and you at Telford.
