Heinkel 51A by gnomemeansgnome

Post by gnomemeansgnome »

There are more pics on the Golden Oldies page but I thought I would drop a couple here. Built straight from the box, with rigging made of stretched sprue and elastic thread for the overhead rigging. Enjoy!

That's looks really smart and certainly belies its age; proper job!
Best wishes

Thanks fellas. That base was made ages ago but does come in handy as an arid backdrop for related subjects

That has turned out very well indeed, GMG and looks good on that display base.

I wholly agree with the previous comments. Top notch model in every department and a super base. I would give that a gold any day.

Very attractive model!
Your horizons certainly expand when you can do decent rigging!

Thanks! Yes i would say that is a fair assessment. Not my best rigging job but it passes muster for the camera. This little so and so gave me a lot of trouble, particularly with the cabane struts going haywire while the rest of the struts behaved themselves, and vice versa. Think I am going to lay off the biplanes for a while.

That's very nice. I always fancied a Spanish Civil War project for all the attractive aircraft that were available in it. That's one of them.

Ever checked this site out? It's pretty darned handy for such endeavors. Helped me get the Me109 Dora's a/c numbers looking reasonably relevant.
