A-1H Skyraider, South Vietnamese Air Force

Certainly the tackiest scheme I'm ever modelled (everything looks tacky in tiger stripes except tigers :) ), this is an early Skyraider in the COIN grey scheme common to the VNAF before 1967 when they started to adopt the USAF SEA three-tone camouflage. Granted that the kit is not a patch on the Hasegawa one, I think this one has turned out rather well. It certainly looks good on the shelf next to the multi-seater VNAF Skyraider I made last month.

At the moment, I'm working on an armed VNAF T-28 Trojan to go with it as another early South Vietnamese aircraft. Similar scheme, just no tiger stripes.
Overhead a rainbow appears...in black and white.

Current Projects:
Aircraft of VMA-542, USMC
Peru-Ecuador War 1995
THK 1939-2023
Polish Air Force 1939

I like that, including the Tiger markings. Don't see many Skyraiders built and that looks so impressive with a huge load.

Cracking build and a colourful scheme!
Best wishes

Very nicely done. The Skyraider is certainly a big, imposing, piston-engined beastie that always looks like it means business!

That's a great job there and some lovely weathering (I have to admit I have a thing about weathering - maybe I'm just weird :???: ).

I have an Airfix Skyraider in my stash and seeing yours built makes me want to do mine, well done.
