Airfix 1/72 Boston AL496

Post by Ratch »

The 305th BG had Douglas DB-7B Boston AL496 at Chelveston from 01-03-43 to 31-03-43. It then moved to Grafton Underwood, to the 545th BS 384th BG and they used it as a training aircraft from 25-05-43 to 16-06-45.

That has turned out really well for such an old kit. I would never have guessed that this was the Airfix offering. The buildings in the background are also effective.

Excellent job; you've made an old and not so good kit look really good
Best wishes

One that I never did build, but great to see it get an outing, and so nicely presented!

Cheers,

Nice work on the Boston, Ratch. I also like the background diorama you have. Is that also in 1/72?

Yes (1:72/1:76), it's the Airfix Control Tower (slightly converted) with Amera & Flightpath Nissen Huts and there's a Wills Pill Box in there ;-)
