Dien Bien Phu Cat by gnomemeansgnome

Post by gnomemeansgnome »

Classic 'Monogram' Grumman F8F Bearcat kit re-issued in 1989, bought a couple of years ago from a local vendor off of craigs liszt on a whim as I was more after a couple of other kits they had for sale. Then I found the French Indochina War decals and it was on. Built straight from the box with just the cockpit console from scratch (though you can't see it all that well). Yes, it still needs a gunsight and I will get on it. My 13th build of the year. Enjoy.

Looks good in the French scheme, and 13 finishes is a good effort :)

Thanks, Clasher. I did a few full restorations this year as well and sometimes wonder if I should consider them builds as well. Got one of the craig s liszt air force rescue models on the bench now in need of a thorough rebuild, what I believe is an old Revell 32nd scale Focke Wulf long nose Dora. Beany very kindly supplied me with a resin spinner and paddle blade set for it, as the spinner was the only item I couldn't do from scratch.

Very nice build, well done :)

I built the Frog kit a while back and I'm in the process of building the entire 'Cat' collection.
