Unusual Navy aircraft part II 1/72

Another set of US Navy aircraft that were used in small numbers often going unnoticed.

B-47 Stratojet used as a testbed until 1977, they were the last 2 B-47's flying at that time.
Boeing P2B-1S mothership for the Douglas D-558-II Skysrocket.
Grumman F7F-2D drone controller with 2 drones, wich where smaller version of the V-1 Buzzbomb.
Martin JM-1 Marauder Target tug
Franklin PS-2 glider, currently displayed at National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola.
Piper NE-1 Grasshoper
Machhi M-5 used by US naval aviators from the Italian base in Porto Corsini from july 1918 until the armistice november 11th
and finally a Sikorsky R6 Hoverfly II used in Operation Highjump in 1946

the model brands are Hasegawa b-47, Academy B-29A with the special hobby D-558 underneath,Monogram tigercat with the lonestar dronecontroller conversionset, Valom JM-1 Marauder,CMR PS-2 glider, Mastercraft Piper L-4,Pegasus models Macchi M5 and finally the CMR R6 Hoverfly II

All very nice. The Tigercat is particularly interesting. I'd like to know which kits these are from.

What an unusual collection of types - most interesting. For me the Macchi is the best - for obvious reasons!

Those are all fantastic models. My favorites are the B-26 & B-47.

I had no idea the Navy flew the B-47. Thank you for passing on this tidbit of knowledge!
