Airfix Supermarine Walrus Mk.II 1/72
Totally OOB apart from a couple of covers over the gunners positions as I don't generally add crew and the otherwise exposed interior is a little lacking in detail
All paints are acrylic and applied by brush, with a W & N matt varnish overall.
I really enjoyed this build; I'd heard a few horror stories about it but actually it went together very nicely for such an old kit. It was also the last kit I bought from Modelzone in MK before they closed; £3.49 reduced from £7.49

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Well tidy mun.

First rate job, and a bargain. Well done with the rigging.
Yellow prop tips, or were they not applied?

What a great build of this old Airfix classic, Iggie, featuring an excellent bit of brush painting and rigging!

Good result from what is a poor kit (yes - it is). I built it back in 1970 or so and even then I didn't think it was up to much.

Re: Airfix Supermarine Walrus Mk.II 1/72
Thanks everyone for the kind words!
@ vacant; according to the kit instructions the props were black all over, but from a very unscientific search on Google images, it seems that: a) most (but not all) models have yellow tips; b) most (but all) photos of the real thing have plain tips as far as you can tell from old and mostly black and white images, and; c) most (but not all) preserved examples have yellow tips. It would appear to be inconclusive!

Thanks - I was just curious as I had not seen any without yellow tips. It seems to be just 'one of those things'.

I remember building that as a lad in the mid-1960's and it was not particularly good. There fore I think that you have made a little gem from ..... well poorly moulded its of plastic! The finish is very good, as is the rigging.
