Airfix RAF Benevolent Fund BAE Hawk T.Mk.1 RAF Valley 2009
Paints: Cheapo gloss Black rattle can plus Humbrol acrylics otherwise
Two coats of W&N Galeria Gloss varnish.
This is a great little kit, not too many parts, good fit (a little smidge of filler needed at the wing root and intakes) but some nice detail

And the real thing at Kemble June 2009; what happened to this airshow? It used to be fantastic, well organised and always a delight

Very striking!
Half of me thinks the decals are ruined, but it is supposed to look that way!

Cheers,

David

Nice, I like the paint scheme. Were the tail decals easy to apply?

The decals for the vertical part of the tail are in one piece per side, and then mate up with the one piece parts that run from the base of the tail forwards along the fuselage sides. I'm not sure if you are supposed to put the tail sides on first and then the fuselage parts or vice versa!

That's gorgeous, lovely finish. Love the way it's glossy enough to reflect the fin markings on the tailplane

Thanks Kit!
I have to say that Winsor and Newton acrylic varnishes are excellent; the only thing you need to do other than brush them on is to bake it in the airing cupboard for a while

Talk about pure eye-candy!

As if Austin Powers and Carnaby Street haven't done their bit in promoting the Union Jack you of course take it up a notch.

Very well done!
