You're sure you didn't go to a museum to take snaps of the real thing, to fool us 8-D ?
(You must be one patient modeller, indeed, to create this! )

Wow, incredible work. Its very fascinating to look at and much of the detail looks very realistic.

Thanks for sharing this with us and good luck with the rest of the project - I look forward to seeing more of your work.

My goodness, Fozzy, that is a work of art. A brilliant example of scratch building!

Stunning project. If you'd said the pictures were of the real thing, or a museum restauration, I would have believed it without a single doubt. Magnificent.

I don't have a big enough vocabulary of superlatives to offer-up for your build. Will gobsmacked-awesome suffice? Wow.

What he said - WOW!

I do have a question however, as I'm cusrious and know very little about the Fortress. What's that dome thing on the roof in from of the cockpit windscreen? I don't think I've ever noticed something like that on the nose of a B-17 - Was is something particular to a G model? (I assume it's a astrodome for the Navigator to see the stars?)

You got it in one!...it is the astrodome for the Navigator!...I'm no real expert but as far as I am aware the astrodome was introduced on the F variants ..although not all B17F had them. There were many different configurations of the noses like more side windows and more MGs..especially on the E and F variants before the Chin turret was introduced on the B17G
