'Twotter' playing in the snow. Matchbox 1/72

Post by Chuck Finley »

Today is the day I have been waiting for since building the Matchbox Twin Otter for last spring's group build. We just has our first snow in Atlanta since the beginning of Winter and it was time to finally photograph my DHC Twin-Otter of the Alaska Army National Guard in it's natural environment- on skis in the snow.

On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Very nice, work, that amount of snow would bring us to a halt here.

That looks great, Chuck, especially posed in the snow like that. It's snowing here as I type but hardly enough to class as a thick covering. Shangos is right - the amount of snow in your photo would bring a lot of the UK to a shuddering (or should that be sliding?) halt
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

That's quite a beauty you've got there Chuck and looks a treat in the natural elements like that, although I'm not sure how well those white recognition bands would work in the snow.

Most excellent!

Looks great. I used to work for DeHavilland Canada on the Dash-7 in the 70's. The Twin Otters were made in the North Plant adjacent to the Downsview base which was closed a while ago and DHC absorbed by Bombardier. In a shockingly stupid move, the aviation museum (which housed the only full scale mockup of the Avro Arrow) was also closed to make room for a hockey arena. Bread and Circuses for the masses and forget about Canadian aviation history!
