Lovely result!
David
Aldi periodically have some Airfix selections on offer. I have taken advantage twice. But of course they go for a very modest range of the 'sure things' e.g. Spitfire, P-40, Zero, etc.., and here in regional Oz, the volume of stock is small when it happens.FAAMAN wrote:Sure wish Aldi here in Oz had Airfix

Very nice and well done!
I like the lights on the fuel tank tips.
It looks like you even took the trouble to correct a fault by removing the canopy top brace that Airfix mistakingly moulded as an external feature.
Any tips on performing this intimidating operation without cracking the clear canopy?

Re: Airfix 1/72 Hunting Percival Jet Provost T.4
Cheers mate.
I tend to pack out the inside of the canopy with blue tac, cover the front and rear canopy frames with Tamiya tape and then sand the middle frame away and polish back up using various grades of polishing sticks.
This method has worked several times with perfect results.
I usually finish by giving the glazing a final coat of either Johnson's Klear or AK Interactive Gauzy Agent Glass Coat.
The lights on the tip tanks were done by painting them silver. Once dry, they are painted Tamiya clear red for the left light and Tamiya clear green for the right light.
