Kawasaki Ki-10 'Perry'; Vac Wings
Kawasaki Ki-10 'Perry'; Vac Wings
Think Hawker Fury. Think Curtiss P6 Hawk. Then you will see how the Ki-10 (code name Perry) fits into aviation history. It entered service in 1935 but was obsolete by 1939 with 588 having been built.
The model is made from the Vac Wings kit (vacform). Not a lot to say about it.
I finished it in a camouflage colour scheme instead of the more common light green/grey of pre-WW2 Japanese aircraft. I cheated slightly in that this particular colour scheme was used on Ki-10s that had spats - the model does not. Perhaps it also sometimes flew without the spats. It's a detail that does not worry me unduly.

Great looking Perry
Been modelling for years, still learning . . . .
Model kits are meant to be assembled . . . . . . . . . . eventually.

I really like the lesser known aircraft that you build as models. This is another unknown to me and as usual you have made a first class job of it.

Lovely stuff from a challenging vacform, as we have come to expect from you mate!
And that is a colourful scheme for sure!
Also, not a type I was familiar with. Interesting.

Cracking build of such an unusual (but also rather attractive) little plane; love it!
Best wishes
Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Super nice.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

The design looks like it would fit in quite nicely somewhere in between the Thomas-Morse MB-3 and the Curtiss P-6 years. I suspect the Japanese 'borrowed' ideas extensively from that period.
The model is excellent. Well done.
