These two are more or less out of the box. I may have overdone the wear on the 110's winter finish but i suppose it had to come off at some time.
I tried a mig panel line wash on the 410 which I quite liked and may try others in the range.

Nice. I love the paint job on the 110.

Both look to be great little builds; you have got the worn winter camouflage spot on to my eye. What method did you use?

Both look fantastic and they still make very nice models.

Great builds of these Matchbox classics. I think the worn temporary winter cam on the 110 looks good - I've seen photos of Luftwaffe machines with the winter cam almost totally worn away. Was it not a water soluble paint, a type of whitewash?

Thanks to you all for your kind comments.

Iggie, I used hairspray to get the effect. I first sprayed RLM 70 on the upper surfaces. Then applied the markings (the 70 was glossy) followed by an overall coat of Klear. When that had fully dried, I then gave it a coat of bog standard Asda hairspray. Vallejo white was next and when dry, i started rubbing with a moistened cotton bud where I wanted the white to come off. Some bits come off easy, some are stuck like the proverbial. Maybe more hairspray next time as I haven't got much use for it on my head.

I've used the same method on an Italeri Ju-88; it does work really well as you have admirably shown. I found that they cheaper the hair spray, the easier it is to work with!
Mind you, it's still a nerve wracking experience!

That's a great job.

Some may find the winter camo a little overdone but I agree with the rest of the guys, I think it's a cracking result :)

I missed this pair!
Love the bold weathering on the 110!
Hmmm....quite a bit of Matchbox surfacing in the forum recently.

Cheers,

David

Very well done on both, the winter scheme has come off great. I have a Mbox 410 stashed but I've never had the 110.

Both are great builds. I too love the winter scheme on the 110. You really captured the wear and tear a plane operating in this harsh environment would undergo. Awesome job on both.
