Sikorsky JRS-1 1/72

Post by Navy one »

Ten weeks in the making, finally finished.
The Sikorsky JRS-1 US Navy transport amphibian by Eduard/sword.
This plane survived the Pearl Harbor attack and joined the search for the japanese strike force within hours of the attack.
Armed with a bolt action rifle and a Thompson the crew searched and found japanese CAP fighters. Lucky to escape they returned to Ford island.
The aircraft survives and is being restored now.
The build was an uphill struggle through several causes.
But I am happy with the result.

Now that I like! Very good looking build indeed!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Great work and interesting colours. I can't imagine that it was an easy build.

Keep up the good work :)

It's in a yellow wings scheme, what's not to like? Seriously, that looks excellent and is a type with which I'm not familiar. On my workbench 10 weeks is quite a speedy build :ha:

Wow what a stunner! Love the old "yellow wings" and few things say 1930's U.S. Navy like the Sikorsky JRS-1!

A real testament to your boundless talent and very easy on the eyes!

Very cool. I used to have a top with a picture of one on it that I wore to model shows (though usually had my themed CBK T-shirt over the top)
