Airfix new tool Me262A

This is the new tool Airfix Me262. It is a really fine build. I had one issue with the build. One main landing gear (Tire) was short shot and missing in action. Via my Local Model Shop, Craig got me the Edward Brassin set which is excellent but not a direct replacement without a slight modification to the the strut. I'm hearing now that Airfix is releasing moulding the 262B. The spare parts in the box indicates just that. The kit was made available via Soapy's. Thanks Craig for all the extra effort.

Nicely done
I've read some other modellers have had problems mounting the engine pods to the wings; how did they go for you?

Excellent looking build Jeff and some very nice freehand camouflage

I had no fit issues on this build. But I did not care for the pitot tube piece on the port wing. It is intricate to the wing tip.

I agree with James: lovely model set off extremely well on that base.

Lovely model, nicely painted.
If I did not have a stash full of 262s, I would be tempted.

Cheers,

David

That is a first class build of the new Airfix '262, Jeff, beautifully painted and with that excellent base really setting it off. It is a little concerning, however, that one of the tyres was short shot on what is a bang up to date moulding......

Lovely work. My hand brushed one is moving on. Easy build, with no issues.

Cracking pair of builds both - Interesting you both had no issues with the fit, I thought it was blooming awful.

I would like to see Airfix get new tools made of some of their less common subjects. Like the Chipmunk, BV - 141, Westland Whirlwind, Vought Kingfisher...so many of these types that Airfix could bring up to modern standard and not rehash those that are already well represented by other kit makers.

I'll second that!

I'll add SAM guidline missile and Beagle Basset

I'm looking forward to starting my Me262.
