ICM 1/48 BF109F2

Post by Nikonchris »

Not bad for under £10. Fits ok, apart from the odd filler needed, looks like an ME109, cockpit is sparse but the engine block makes up for that. 4 different markings are included, not sure which yet but the one with the yellow cowl and ruder seems to look ok.
Sticking it onto a small diorama, but might put the prop on yet. Lost the front engine covers in between finishing them and starting to build again, heavens knows where  but looks ok with out them.
Pixs attached.
Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

Have you attempted to fit the engine covers yet? I'm at about the same step on my kit. I'm hoping to have one side open but the rest buttoned up. I can't get the cowl to fit.

What is your experience?

Derp, my mistake - I have a Zvezda, not ICM kit. They look broadly similar

All the best for 2018 let's hope it's a good year.
With time off over the festive period it was time to carry on the build or paint more like. Using the new Humbrol acrylic paints from their RLM range i used 241 and 242 for RLM 70/71 colors and looks ok.
With some 'snagging' to finish and put the rest of the bits on, decals and weathering the build should be soon over.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.

This is shaping up very nicely, Chris (sorry but I seem to have missed your other build instalments!). The F is one of the best looking '109 variants IMHO as most of the others lack the same purity of line (with the exception of the early G-series). Is this going to feature in a maintenance dio with that nice looking engine on show?
