1/72 Hasegawa A-1H Skyraider VA-52 USS Ticonderoga '60ies

Post by Marek »

Spad the Shelf Queen in its glory. It was finished last Friday just in time for Saturday's model club meeting's contest (Shelf Queen build). The model itself had more 'engineering intellect' than its builder :). Went together beautifully and suffered quite a bit under my hands.

- Vallejo Air were used for major colours
- Hands were used for brush-painting some small parts (propeller white and red bands etc) - probably last time
- Printscale decals used - First time, went well. Some smaller characters are undecipherable but overall impression is quite positive
- UMP/Ultimate clay based washes - beautiful as always
- Silver pencil for small chips - Lots to learn on my side

Overall result is likable but does not knock off socks around it.

Hope You enjoy!

You have underestimated your very fine work. This is a model for the show table to knock people's socks off. Well done! It's beautiful.

Looks great to me, well assembled and painted with just the right touch of shading and weathering.
All the underwing stuff appears to be very well aligned and squared away.
I wouldn't have thought it 1/72 scale.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

It knocks my socks off Marek! I think that is a first class Spad and I'd be well chuffed to turn one out looking like that. Top work.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
