Yup...the nose was fully rotated and this was the best fit I could achieve. Everything else was a truly perfect fit.

Likewise, Brews...but this is a Review kit, so I most certainly wasn't going to say no and I fancied something relatively easy for a change.

Good stuff Bruce. Really like the colors.

Striking colours. That flanker will be a splendid bird.

Hi Bruce, I like the colour scheme so far. A question for you if you don't mind?

I was just wondering whether (assuming you did the light blue first) you applied the light brown colour and then the dark blue or if you painted the dark blue and then the brown. Normally one might apply the dark blue last but as a brush painter too I wondered if it might be easier to do the brown last?

Hope I'm making sense!

Hi Stu,
Fair question...

It got two overall coats of the lightest blue, H65. This is what you're seeing as 'brown', I think.

Studying the camo pattern, the next blue appears to go 'under' the darker blue, so H47 was applied next. I had to try and visualise what it might've looked like, without the darker blue on top and applied the H47 in that pattern.

Finally, the darker blue, H89, was applied, using a smaller brush. I used a thinner paint, because I needed to be able to get those nice, rounded corners and blobs, without streaking. Due to the thinness of the paint, two coats were needed.

Some minor touching up was then required, for all 3 blues.

I think my method copies that of the real machine, where the camo is applied in layers.

Bruce

Very nice paint works!

If it interest, this http://www.begemotdecals.ru/doc/48-007%20Su-33.pdf; instruction leaflet from Su-33 decal of Begemot with color charts. By the way, when in 1999 I make 10 kits for Sukhoi OKB, I have only one copy of OKB camouflage rules of Su-27K. And I never see two or more similar camouflaged Su-27K/33. Individual camo for every Sea Flanker.
Still wait available Hasegawa Su-33 in Moscow...
