Thanks EVERYONE for the kind words,
Jim asked after the flat coat, I use Testor's dull-coat Lacquer. Bring the new bottle home, let the flattening agent settle to the bottom over-night then slowly poor off about 1/3 to 1/2 of whats left of the clear. This gives me a dead-flat coat that I can shine up by adding more gloss if desired.
Mike Grant, you're too kind, I do have some nasty "faux-pas" seam wise but this was strictly a fun/fast build so I let 'em go.
Glad you all enjoyed, thanks again !!!!!
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Yup. Dirk, Allan B. does some awesome work with Ye Olde Airfixe.

Very smooth look on that one, Allan.

Beautiful model through I am surprised that no photo's of the original 'RED 2' are available.

This particular plane was found by allied troops amongst others at Burg/near Magdeburg, an airbase from wich 10./NJG11 (02.11.44-Kdo Welter- from 28.02.45 on as 10./NJG 11) operated with single and two-seater Me 262's on day/night-fighter operations. They left Burg in Early April 1945. Feldwebel Karl-Heinz Becker was a commonly known ace of this unit. It's a relatively simple uncommon skin for the 262 nightfighters (black underside), not the patched mottled variant. Besides the black underside, the red numeral is another indicator to 10./NJG 11. 10./NJG 11 was delivered with 23-25 Me 262 A-1a and 7 Me 262 B-1a/U1 throughout their service.

Aces of 10./NJG 11:
Fw. Becker (7 confirmed victories on Me 262)
Oblt. Kurt Welter (6 acredited victories on Me 262)
Ofw. Bocksteigel (1)
Lt. Lamm (1)
Lt. Altner (1)

5 victories acredited to 10./NJG 11 remain unknown

Wonder if a 'virtual' trip to the Bundesachiv might turn up something?
