Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
adding final little bits 'n pieces
Added flap hinges and modified the ventral fin. The little green strip that looks like a slot with the background showing through is really just green putty on the fin.

This is looking very nice Barry.
This is one kit I never had a hankering to build, just never appealed for some reason. This is one of those threads/builds that can inspire!

Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
well, Jag, it is a Matchbox after all.
Ya know Mike, I just seem to be liking light twins these days, especially those that don't get built often.

Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
This little 'shoulder' at the wing root has been nagging, so..
I glue on a straight edge and filled the D-shaped opening with super glue
built it up with filler
sanded to shape
I thought about not doing this part since they didn't have it in the early '90s, but......in for a penny 'n all that.

Nice technique for a tricky fill.
Classic British Kits SIG Leader Better to fettle than to fill

Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
Thanks guys...
Here's the box art Asoka. Its a very old kit....I don't think I've ever seen one built up in person, and only a couple in pics.
Gettin' closer Stu. Just a few more of those electronic doo-dads.

Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
The box art shows a Northolt machine, circa 1979.
I snapped the cockpit window; it's very fragile. So it's loft insulation at the moment.
Interested to see how you get on.
In reply to Barry's message below
Or learn techniques to make a new one?! Even better, re-release it in 'nice' plastic and complete markings including squadron crest.

Re: Matchbox HS-125 1/72
Hi, Sorry about your 'structural failure'. Maybe someone in the crowd has an extra piece to share (my Dominie came with 2 clear sprues, so it can happen). I'm doing a 32 Sqn. machine in the red/white scheme...waiting now to get a coat of white on before posting another pic.
