Barry's Noorduyn Norseman **Finished**
How 'bout a nice, hefty Canadian bush plane....Just to be clear, this is a civilian aircraft that was used by the militry: not t'other way 'round. Sorry about the box art, but it is what it is. They didn't consult me.

Re: Barry's Noorduyn Norseman
Nice choice Barry, I had thought about having a go at this one as well. Are you going to go with floats, wheels or skis?

Hi Tom...How's it going? Right now, I'm thinking wheels, but that could change to skis. Floats wouldn't look right unless I made a water base dio to put it on and I don't want to do that.

Okay then...this opens up the GB for a whole host of similar types, such as Otters etc..

Is this a former Matchbox kit Barry? it's an interesting choice though the military markings in a civil GB could be considered a little naughty I wonder if Merlin would notice Sidewinders on my Bonanza?

It is the old Matchbox and, to participate in this GB, it will be in civvy guise.

Right...this Norseman, CF * SAM, never served in the military and I already apologized for the box. Are you really OK with this subject Bruce?

I was hoping to avoid small airliners, as these also seem to get reasonable coverage by modellers.Barry wrote:Right...this Norseman, CF * SAM, never served in the military and I already apologized for the box. Are you really OK with this subject Bruce?
That said, I'm truly past caring.

All's going very well thanks Barry, I think it'll look great on skis ( though floats are always better ) and it's great to see another air ambulance in the GB.Barry wrote:Hi Tom...How's it going? Re: Barry's Noorduyn Norseman
Basic interior color
There's a instrument panel decal provided, but I lost it...dry brushing does it. Actually, the panel fits back under the glare shield so you can't see it anyway. Even looking in from the side, line of sight is either blocked by the wings or foiled by glare on the windows
I took the opportunity here to cut out window masks for later use.
Dimples filled here and similarly on the bottom are where the little locating pins and holes are on the inside. There are others that are not as bad, so I just left them.
Beveled and inserted from the inside, the side windows fit very nicely.
The top window, not so much. Here, I've 'leaded' it in with Super Glue. (Also, the side windows were superglued on the inside to keep them from popping out, or worse, popping in, later)

You know that so amazing obvious, that I feel so amazingly stupid for not having figured it out long ago ...Barry wrote:

Re: Barry's Noorduyn Norseman
A little grey primer revealed a substantial gap at the base of the windscreen.
Fixed with Green Stuff
Wings on now and still trying to decide between wheels/skis/floats.
