Sword Seafire XV 1/72

Post by TomW »

Evening gents  latest from my workbench is this Supermarine Seafire XV from Sword. The kit is straight from the box apart from tape belts in the cockpit. Humbrol enamels as usual with various acrylics used on the little bits.

Hope it's satisfactory :) :

Hi Tom,

Nice finish and a very sharp paint scheme.

I've got one of these to do (the one with BPF markings). How did it build?

regards,

Martin

It was a fairly simple build Martin, cockpit and fuselage went together cleanly, there's a fair bit of work to do at the rear of the wing root and the flap area but nothing filler can't fix, the decals were a little too thin and prone to curling up for my liking but they are Techmod so not really a surprise.

Overall a very good kit, I've got the same companies Seafire XVII to do after christmas. The BPF one is a late version with the stinger tail right?

Really nice paint job on that Tom, shows off the Seafires clean lines. I have the Sword Seafire III in the stash for the new year.
Best Regards

I'm quite tempted to grab one of those, none of the schemes really do it for me but I do have an old Almark sheet that has some more RCN Seafire XV's on it that have the stinger tail....a plan forms
