Looking really good James, and I'm with Stamford, unmask, unmask!

Really looking forward to the finished model, you've put a shed-load of work into this.

Pushing on and I've completed the decaling and added a final coat of Klear. The additional black demarcations and cream formation strips were cut from various bit of other decals. I've taken the masking off to sate the baying pack of fellow modellers :grin:

I've been following your model build with interest mainly as a Javelin enthusiast. I have all important books on the Javelin and I was in the RAF during the whole of the Javelin's service(as humble groundcrew ). I was on 64 and 60 Sqn in Singapore at the end of the Javelin's life. You have done a superb job of a difficult conversion - much easier to do a 1,4 or 5. Just one little point as you are obviously a perfectionist, the little bumps on the rear of the cockpit were only found on the T3 - nitpicking I know but I tend to do that with Javelins

Thanks Clive, your timing is impeccable as I've just finished. I think the pips are going to have to stay. It's been quite hard finding good clear pics of Javelins and there is quite some variation in aerial fit and I've found errors in the two profiles I have for this aircraft and plans have been misleading. I've only found one B&W pic of this aircraft, here: http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1044473/;

OK so what's been done since last post. Well the nose got sprayed matt/statin black - I cut a small hole in a plastic bag, put the kit in the the bag and poked the nose through the hole and masked it off. Added the blade aerial under the port intake and 3 whip aerials to the tailplane. The undercarriage locates very positively with the correct forward rake on the main legs. The nose leg give the correct nose up stance of the Javelin. For once the undercarriage doors were easy to add, some of these being the PE replacements. White lining added to the canopy using decal paper which really lifts the model. For once the undercarriage doors were easy to add

I'm pretty pleased with it even though I could have done a better job of blending the cockpit join in and it's really nice to have what is, if not unique, quite a rare bird as far as models go. A big thank you to OldTonto without who this build couldn't have happened, T-21 for additional refs and for everyone whose been watching and offering encouragement for the last 6 months! :grin:

Very very nice, James.

Now find a safe place to display it, out of the reach of little fingers . . .
