Novo 1/72 Airspeed Oxford Trainer Mk.II

Post by Sissel »

This is from Royal Norwegian Air Force Flying School Gardermoen, 1948.
I really love the paint scheme of the these trainers. I have three more to build, a M-62A Cornell, T-6(SNJ-4) and Fi 156 Storch.
The Vingtor decals are of superb quality and a pleasure to work with. They settle down real nice as well.
I only wish the serials wasn't printed each letter separately, and with a bit more space on the sheet. Was very hard to cut them out and hold them, even with small tweezers. They really were tiny!

What to say of this old kit. Well, I have enjoyed this build almost all the way. Is there ever a perfect build?
I decided to finish it with satin varnish.
Taking pictures in the dark with extra shine from the lamp, sorry about that. This makes the plane look at tad more dark and shiny than it really is.

I have recently acquired one of those Novo Oxfords so I know just how basic a kit they are, which
make your finished one all the more impressive, beautiful work.

VERY stunning work Sissel. This is a superb build of that classic kit. Nice one.

All the best.

Very nice indeed. Not a scheme I've ever seen before.

You should be very proud of the finished result,I can only echo everyone else's praise, and as for the shaking hand yours truely deserves to be.This just goes to show that there is a lot to be said for some kits, that some people think should be retired to the loft have still got a place on display shelves.Well done

Very, very nice! Love the colors, and I see what you men about those tiny serials....hard to believe they printed them as separate letters.
