Mig 23 M Flogger B - Accademy 1/72

Post by giulio_gobbi »

From box, with small improvements to the antennas.

The model is a clone Hasegawa, with engraved panels and a few tweaks of detail.

Comparing the model with scale drawings published in the monograph of the series "4+", the fuselage is too long of four millimeters, wings and tail are accurate.
The panels are not inaccurate, but to be fussy are missing a lot ........ I'm not picky, and with a good oil wash, are excellent!
The detail of the undercarriage and air intake is more than enough, the cockpit is empty, engine exhaust acceptable.

Given that it is impossible to shorten the fuselage, if carefully assembled, the finished model is a good representation of a "Flogger" from the first production series.

The camo is for an aircraft in service near Moscow in 1972. stars and red code come from my spare box.

I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Great work, but the armament where is? Too bad I failed, I like anyway.

I never put armaments under my models.
You failed to do what?

I was going to order this one off ebay. I went for an Academy F-15 C instead.

Very nice job on your one though.

Terrific build Giulio, it looks great, that nose up stanch gives the model an aggressive attitude IMO, I love it. ;-)

Thanks to all for the kind comments! :)

I'm sorry, I have little time to comment on your work, but I follow them all and I always learn something.
