My newest Project arrived this morning

Post by Pugz636 »

Hello everybody

I wanted a project to break my duck, and christen the new house so to speak, I saw this in Hong Kong, so I bought it.
The kit comes in 5 plastic bags and a nice box, there is a separate colour sheet for the colour schemes and decal options. The two options this kit comes with is for an Israeli and a Lakenheath Flag ship ( which is the option I'm going for).

here is the sprue shot, and bizarrely there are only 5 stages to construction....all 5 will feature here.

Doesn't seem to have much on in the way of ordnance. Any plans along those lines?

wow Ian thats a good spot, i hadnt paid that any attention... I do have a weapons pack, I wil have to see what I have left...maybe thats a bridge I wll cross when I get a bit closer to finishing, probably a center tank, or a Paveway III, Lantirn and Asraams for sef defence, I will have to look it up...

In the meantime evidence I have been modelling is below, its sort of a front and back arrangement,so While I was waiting for the cockpit tub's paint to dry i cemented the two rear fuselage halves together. The fit is very good, the only joins that I have had to sand so far is the rear...I have semi painted the seats and they will still need work, prepeainted the centre of the gear hubs on the sprue and attached the front gear into the recesses provided. Not going to attach the wheels until nearer the end.

Image

Again whilst waiting for another bit to dry I attached the vertical fins and whilst the line is pretty prominent once they are solid I will sand the joins

That's the fastest F-15E I've seen since the last time I was at Elvedon forest!

OK in regards to underwing stores im am going for the standard UK fit, two underwing tanks 1 lantirn pod, 1 baggage pod, and two AsRAAM or AMRAAM depends on what I have left...

Ian you are a man after my own heart, I too go to elvedon forest for the aircraft...if I can get the missus booked in for a spa, sometimes a quick road trip to Mildenhall or Lakenheath can bear fruit, especially now that Mildenhall is getting Ospreys...
Maybe I l do one of those next...

You should make it into a G1 Transformers Starscream:

Fantastic! I'm building an Academy F-15 shortly, why don't we do a partner-build of Starscream?

Oh this will be fun.....

ok blohmwolf im in! let me know when u want to start so i can buy another kit...
Where we going to get the decals from? in fact disregard, I have ordered my kit ( 1:72 Hobby boss f-15E) and i have found some stickers/decals for a two inch tall figure, so they might not be far out, but they are coming from the states so ill have to wait and see...
Its amazing really that no model company have cottoned on to the vehicle mode of transformers and made kits to appeal to the younger market....
