Italeri AH-1 Super Cobra from Whirlybirds GB

Post by Sissel »

A continuation from this topic.
Couldn't get this one finished in time either, so work to be continued here. There's really not that much left.

I've got the colors on. Will need to go over with grey again and paint rest of canopy, then get the weapons on. It should then be ready for decals before final touch with blades and varnish.
Unless I've forgot something.

That's one mean looking chopper Sissel. Love the camo scheme too. :)

Very nice build Sissel, I have the Revel boxing to build for my son, I hope it looks as nice as yours, I'm not a big chopper fan myself but that looks terrifc. ;-)

Thanks guys. :)

Steve, I'm sure the Revell will be a very nice build. This Italeri kit is of usual Italeri standard, pretty good. Accuracy and such I wouldn't know about.

I put a last coat of light grey on, painted rest of frames, with a little spill. Went over with toothpick to clean up, but was impatient and should have waited a bit more for paint to dry properly. I'm also gonna have to repaint the exhausts.
What's next is to future coat it. I'll add weapons after decalling session, as applying the decals will be easier.
I'll need to find some pics of others build of this as the decal instructions is lousy, it only shows where a few goes, and I'm no heli expert.

Thanks, Ralph.
This is ready for decals tomorow. I did put the weapons on, and this was quite fiddly, glue mess resutling in repaint. The only thing not stuck on now is the blades.
Offcourse I managed to knock off a sticky out piece on the way. Superglue and it shouldn't be a problem.

Very nice. My favorite Marine scheme.
