RLM colour confusion...help please!

Post by Mikeew »

Right, let me explain…..

I’m building the Eduard 1:48 FW190A-8/R2 in the markings of Wilhelm Moritz JG.3, Memmingen, July ‘44 and would like any input on clarification of the RLM colours quoted.

The upper camo is noted as RLM74/75
The Gunze equivalents are listed as
RLM74 = H304
RLM75 = H69

However, H304 equates to Olive Drab in the Gunze range?
Whereas Gunze RLM74 is actually listed as H68?

What is confusing is the colour plans show the two camo colours as distinctively grey and green with the green shade being quoted as H304, which is Olive Drab.

Would it be grey/green or grey/dark grey camo scheme?
Also, would Olive Drab be a good equivalent, or am I barking up completely the wrong tree with green in the equation?

All help and info gratefully received!
