Re: Titan's White Angel
Here are the opening Boxtop and sprue shot photos etc.
I'm thinking that I will scribe the panel lines and get rid of the raised efforts.
Not found much wrong other than these sink marks which are easy enough to put right.
Nice to see the canopy bagged.
The decals look good with plenty of stencils and a nice big `A` included.
Only 5 parts to the instruction sheet, no surprise there then as this is such a simple kit to put together.
And a colour painting guide as well.
So what are my intentions for this build, well as mentioned earlier I will be getting rid of the raised panel lines and replacing with engraved lines made with a scriber.
I doubt that I will use a pilot so I will put some bracing and such like into the cockpit.
I will replace the four Missile ports with five using plasticard.
I will probably hollow out the reverse braking thruster.
The tail reheat server will get a thin panel of plasticard to make it into a double slot as the kit has only the one either side of the tail section.
Finally the long nose will be getting a good sanding to make it a much more pointy than the kit is at the moment and to make it more like the boxtop illustration.
There could be other things, who knows?

Re: Titan's White Angel
Ok here are a few pictures of the kit all snapped fixed up like.
Those strakes above the canards are pure fantasy and will have to go.
I think I will be getting rid of most of the snap fix pins also to make for a better fitting kit.
Maybe make the gun port a little bit better also.

Re: Titan's White Angel
I've started to add as far as I can a parcel shelf, rear bulkhead, SR71 seat and a Coaming and will add some bracing, side consoles and IP next before painting the interior an olive or Rlm2 colour.
The seat will also be spruced up a tad.( I also moved the seat forward a little as I felt the original seat was too far rearward.
The reaheat servers were cleaned up and the braking thruster was reamed out.
The nose was sanded to a suitable point and the strakes will be removed once the nose has been attached and glued later on in the build.

Ooooh, sexist!!
Mark, I'd strongly suggest you address the main gun port at this stage (and maintain a steady, gentle suck with your eggs).

Bruce

Re: Titan's White Angel
Some more cockpit shenanigans today and I think save a touch up of paint this will be all that I will add as I added the canopy and to be honest you are not going to see a whole lot anyway except the actuator and bracing struts.
Keep in mind though that it is only the snap fix pins keeping everything together at the moment and they will be cut away when it comes time for glueing.
The coaming will be added then.
I've also got some filler at there ready as I fear I am gonna need it.

Re: Titan's White Angel
Hi Shane, I used the smooth end of a broken mini drill bit for the cannon as I knew one day such a thing would be truly useful.

Re: Titan's White Angel
I've added some plasticard splitter plates to both the port and starboard intakes but will have to do a bit more research on them to see how far they actually protrude out.
I also managed to get am extra missile port by using some stretched sprue and opening up the missile bay ports a little so now you can see five of them.
The reverse thrust servers will each get a splitter plate also and I think then I can tidy everything up and then getting the fuselage closed together.
