Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper ***Finished***
Re: Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper
Let the Soviets stick pipework on theirs...we Brits have more...er....class.
(Upper, Middle and Lower, apparently).
That nose looks better than mine, being smoothed in so well.
You got room for fuel?

Bruce

Re: Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper
It’s an old Naval Tradition they never give Navel a/c too much fuel as it stops the pilots straying to far away from the ships they should be protecting, but I think you were right so I have added two slipper tanks on the side.MerlinJones wrote:You got room for fuel?
Due to time constraints I might slow down on this GB and plod on with my Dauntless for the Pearl Harbour GB, then come back to it with plenty of time to finish before the GB closes.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
Re: Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper
Good move. Looks like it could have the legs for an extended CAP now.

Re: Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper
I have now given it a light coat of white primmer, which has shown a few minor bits like the nose join, that will need fixing.
I might just give it a blow over with Dark Sea Grey just to see what it will look like in RN colours.

Re: Splash's Royal Naval Sea Viper
Hi Guys
Thanks for you help and suggestions, I have enjoyed this GB, it has been my first Whiff and I think I might just do something like this again.
Here is the finished Royal Naval Sea Viper, it’s not as sleek as the original Angel Intercepter, but to be fair Naval a/c always are a bit more rugged and not always as attractive as their Air Force equivalents.

Very, very cool...and congratulations on being first past the post!
Any chance of a photo of the finished Sea Viper in this pose?
It looks so ready to be launched.
Regards,
Bruce

Cool, definitely looks like a Naval bird. Some serial codes and ejector seat warnings would help give it some extra detail.
