"Welcome to Dora! Dora! Dora!"
Oh dear...

Well, as I was typing this, the kit I ordered off eBay has arrived - it's the one in this box, which probably means it's the old one, yes?

If so, I'll pop down to Monk Bar Models and get the new "starter set" edition with the paints, and use the above for practicing paintjobs...

You're fine - that's the kit we're building.

Count me in, I will be going for the Jagdverbande 44 option as I have already built the JG26 machine.

So here is the question, is the only difference between the starter set fw190D and the normal boxed A1064, the serial number and the paints, glue and brush in the starter set?
Is the molding the same or is the starter set the newer one?

Hi Brews

Thanks for the subject history lesson, I often wondered about the red and white stripped Fw190’s now it all makes sense.

Excuse my total subject ignorance was the FW190 that was fitted with a torpedo a totally different type or just a modified model?

I picked up a decal sheet from Telford with a captured Dora in Red Stars ready for the GB, thought it would be a change from the usual crosses.

It shows my ignorance, I thought all 190’s had radial engines, now I’m looking at photos I see the difference, I had never noticed the exhausts on a 190d which indicate it’s not a radial engine. You live and learn.

My interest in Naval types and helicopters has blinded me to all these other subjects, thats why I like these GB’s.

I was wanting to build a captured 190 myself but I'm not sure the captured examples are the same as this kit. I was thinking of doing the all red 190
